moi? (arched eyebrow)
For all I’ve been writing a blog that runs more like a stream of consciousness than any notable prose for the past several years, I really don’t like talking about myself. Insightful, isn’t it? Ok. I’ll give it a whirl.
Fyrefayre is pronounced “FIRE FAIRY”. Yeah. Gotta get that one right if we’re ever going to be friends. I picked the name when I was frantically searching for an Instant Messenger name on AOL that wasn’t taken, back when AIM was the only IM client around. (Am I dating myself here?) The name stuck. If you do a search on Google for Fyrefayre, almost all of what you’ll find is me. It’s my iconic alter-ego. And I even have the visual for you.

Isn’t she hot? (Self love much? Nah.)
A few years ago, the artist, David Bollt found my site and emailed me (I’d been expecting a cease and desist writ forever) and gave me permission to use it as my icon, noting only that “it was nice to read the insanity of someone else’s life”. Glad I made you feel a little bit more on the normal side of life, Dave. (Seriously though, love his work – scope it here – he also does tattoos.)
Most people call me “CAT”. (Yes, in full caps.) It’s one of many nicknames I’ve had over the years, but considering it’s my favorite, I actually respond to it.
What else? Oh.
I’m a serious bibliophile; translation: I read a lot. Want to impress me? Pick out a book I haven’t read but will adore. (Not as intimidating as it sounds, my tastes are all over the map.)
Very musically inclined. Easiest way to get my attention – play something. I am a dancer at heart and would very likely perish if I couldn’t have music playing for at least most of my day. DJs love me; I paint the beat.
My other passions are food (I heart cooking), travel, and art. My main focus is my work – digital marketing. If there’s one piece of advice I have, it’s LOVE what you do.
At the end of the day, I come home to my cat, though her willful adoption of me waxes and wanes – but that’s ok. I understand. I’m somewhat feline myself.
I’m willful, disobedient, and transient in this world and others. I take in life like a sponge. Every day is different. I laugh more than I cry. That’s all that matters.
